Re: "The Touch of Roy and Dale" - a new book just out about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans which mentions Janet...

I got this from Dan Bell. Thought you'd like to see it. [Dan Bell's promotions company is publicizing this book.]

Hey Janet,

Thanks for the kind words.

The book is off to a great start. Several newspapers around the country have run press release articles and one was picked up by the Associated Press and has run in Japan and the Washington Examiner papers. Tricia was invited by RFD to participate in their Equesfest pre-Rose Bowl Parade activities, joining Dusty, Cheryl, Mimi and others for book signing. On Tuesday she will be interviewed by Joe Franklin on his national Bloomberg radio program. Happy New Year!

Best always,
Dan & Kim

Mr. Bell's email is a response to one that Janet had sent him, a portion of which we list below...

I am thrilled with the book. I am reading it from cover to cover and I can't thank everyone enough for working me in there. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

It is a wonderful 'trip back in time' and I am sure it is a thrill for hundreds of people like me who just 'loved those two people' and treasured their friendship and life on this earth. They were what 'heroes' should be like.

TELL KIM SHE LOOKS GREAT IN DALE'S OUTFIT AND SHE LOOKS GREAT IN THE PHOTOS.

Re: private performance...

I will sing Wednesday [December 14] at the private house for seniors assisted living in Mesquite. It is an annual small Christmas Party that John and I/now Larry Shipman and I will do at 3:30 to 5PM or so. That and the songwriters' gathering at Art's [Greenhaw] is it for the year [December 16], unless something else comes up.

Re: Note to the Buckaroos on Kacey Musgraves' recent songwriting success...

Hello to all Buckaroos,

I know we talk about our Buckaroos who go on to success in many ways and for our Kacey Musgraves it is with one of her songs.

Miranda Lambert recorded a song 'co-written' by Kacey and it is now on Miranda's new CD release and in stores. The song is called MAMMA'S BROKEN HEART and it was just included in THE ROLLING STONES TOP 50 SINGLES OF 2011. Kacey's song is #26. Kacey is also singing 'backup' on this recording.

Kacey is scheduled to begin recording for her first CD after the first of the year.

Congratulations KACEY. We're proud of you.

Don't forget us,

Janet and Devon

Re: The annual Gene Autry Fan Club reunion yesterday and her appearance last night at the Rodeo City Music Hall...

Last night was fun and we did our best to put on a good show for the folks. The Cronies lunch was wonderful too.

Just an all around [good] day and worth each hour I spent down there.

Above and below are two photos from those events (you can get larger versions by clicking each one). You can see all the pictures taken by Roy Tucker at this link. Congratulations Janet, Mr. Tucker, and everyone who attended the festivities.

This is good. It is the photo of our Mustang Mikki and the article that was printed by the Western Music Association while Micaela was in attendance at the WMA Festival this year.

Micaela and Kristyn were seen for the full four days and were featured on the Youth Stage and the Yodeling Contest and and Harmony Contest. Our Buckaroos were all over the place and seen in the 'jams'.

They both let the world know THERE IS A GROUP OF YOUNG BUCKAROOS 'GAINING ON THEM'.

Hello to all Buckaroo's and CTO Members.

Our friend Enola Gay has been a friend of all of ours since the beginning of the Cowtown Opry and it is with complete sadness that I report the news that she sent to me. Her Grandson Jacob, who is in the Buckaroos' photo that appears in the Cowgirl Book was killed in an automobile accident in Elk City, Oklahoma on November 11th. He was 16.

Jacob was not a Buckaroo member but he did appear with us at least one time.

Our condolences to the whole family. This is such a tragedy for any family. Enola, our prayers are with you and we are terribly sorry for this loss.

We Love You All,
Janet McBride and Devon Dawson

Ms. Dawson added her own note of sympathy:

Janet,

Thank you for letting us know ... there are no words to use for such pain ...only to come alongside and BE there - it's what Out Lord Jesus does.

"Lord, I pray that Enola and her family will somehow know what Your Presence means in this empty moment -how YOU fill it with Your Life and Your Joy -and that this brokeness in their family life is not all there is..."

Feel free to share. They gave me a certificate last night and I will be mailed a plaque as well.

Love,
Kristyn

Here are Janet's comments:

This is a photo taken by Lori Faith with Buckaroo Kristyn winning her award at WMA 2011. Congratulations to both of our Buckaroos Mustang Mikki and Kristyn for just 'blowing [away] the folks at the Western Music Association's Festival this year'.

Go Buckaroos.

Re: Mustang Mikki winning the Hayloft Gang Video Contest...

Hello to all,

IT IS OFFICIAL. MUSTANG MIKKI WON THE GRAND PRIZE WHICH IS THE MARTIN D-28 GUITAR.

CONGRATULATIONS MICAELA. YOU DID A GREAT JOB.

All of you can go to the website here and give a 'look-see'.

Re: After prodding Janet for a little on her background with Mustang Mikki, here is what she wrote...

I met her in 2008 but yes, she has been in my 'mentoring' program since then. That's 4 years. She was 11 years old. She and Kristyn came to the house. They found out about me through another girl from McKinney who had been in my 'mentoring' program some years back. 2001-2002 era.

In late 2008 she (Callie Maxwell) saw the girls performing at an outside event up in McKinney and told them they needed to contact Janet McBride.

Her parents found me through the website and emailed. They started coming to the house and then became Buckaroos where they met Devon also. The Buckaroo program has given the kids a stage 'monthly' to perform and the best part is, it is still going.

Micaela was one of the Mustang Gang that is in the photo I think I sent a short while ago.

Re: Celebrating Roy Rogers with the Buckaroos...

Yesterday I went to Fort Worth Cowtown Opry show at the Stockyards for Roy Rogers's 100th Birthday with cake, tea, lemonade and water, plus yodeling contest and 'Roy' Fancy Cowboy Outfit. It was a lot of fun.

The above photo was posted by Charlotte Autry on her Facebook account for Roy Rogers' birthday.

Re: New Roy Rogers book includes Janet...

Can we link to them?

Dan Bell and Kim have been fans and friends since the 1990's through WMA and there will be something in the new Roy Rogers book [about me]. However I haven't seen it yet, of course.

I am just proud that I got in it.

Re: Here is what Dan and Kim said to Janet...

Hi Janet,

Hope this finds you well. Our Roy Rogers book is finally off to the printer. We will see the book in about 3-4 weeks. It's been an experience!

We ended up getting material from family members, Dusty, Cheryl, Mimi and Dodie and about an hours of radio interview time From Dusty and Dustin. Son Greg will begin using the tags this week as he touts his upcoming, Nov. 5th, 24 hour Roy Rogers 100th birthday celebration programming, on Radio Classics, Sirius/XM channel 82.

Our new www.westquest.org site is up and running now. (if you've looked at it in the past, you may need to hit the refresh button on your browser). You'll know it's the right one if you see a monument valley sunset header at the top of the home page. Check it out and let me know if what I did with your new book is OK? If you'd like for me to change anything, shout at me. Love to have you add a link to our site also.

I'll keep you posted, and send you the new book when we receive them.

Love,
Dan & Kim

You can go to the westquest.org website by clicking either the link in their message or the photo above. Janet later added this interesting anecdote...

Dan Bell's sister is writing the book. She bid on several boxes of cards and letters from Roy and Dale's fans when they had the big auction in Victorville.

She found some cards sent by me from the old Mesquite Opry Crowd in their cards and called me some time ago about it and of course I said, yep, we used to send cards from the Opry crowd when someone was sick and that is how they got there.

Re: Kristyn Harris and the Buckaroos on YouTube...

This speaks for itself.

Below is the message from LarryOfTheNorth, to which Janet was referring...

Hi Janet and Devon,

I just posted a video of one of your all-stars singing her original song “Yodeling Fever”. I hope you enjoy it.

It was recorded [in] September. When I was looking on the web, it didn’t look like you had very many pictures or videos on the little Buckaroos. If people could hear and see how they have honed their wonderful talents over the years as part of the Backaroo club I’m sure they would be totally impressed. I know I am.

I love what you are doing and hope to see them perform the next time I’m in TX.

Regards,

Larry

You can see the video by clicking the photo above. Thank you Mr. Larry! Later that same day, Janet sent the following...

Everyone is going to want to be associated with Kristyn Harris. She is just a young 17 years old and has recently gotten notice by Red Steagal with a personal invite to his 'big Fort Worth doings'.

She is a special talent. Her devlopment started right here, and included Devon Dawson and the Buckaroos organization.

It began when a young 'past' Buckaroo said to her 'you and Micaela' need to contact a lady named Janet McBride and she'll help you. You might even find their first email someplace around 2008. Both Devon and I are so proud of her and each new thing she does. It's a long life and she'll have a lot of ups and downs but, she'll be right there in the running real soon.

I searched the Email archives, and sure enough there is this message dated December 30, 2008. It was included with a lot of other news which, unfortunately, didn't make it to our website.

I also had one of the McKinney area kids yesterday. She is Kristyn Harris. We worked on her guitar playing and her yodeling songs. She sang me a new 'yodeling' song she has written and it is very cute and very good. It has 'potential' for sure.

Please click to see a larger version.

On January 10, 2009, Janet wrote the following about the picture above...

This one is for you to see. Use if you want but I wanted you to see how cute these four girls are. I have not met the two other girls who are sisters but I will one day.

At the time, then, Janet knew both Kristyn Harris and Micaela Howeth. This webmaster apologizes for not including these notes in 2008 and 2009. These events took place right when his computer was broken, and he was installing software and data onto a new machine. Both of these young ladies have proven to be stellar performers and leaders in their field! Thank you Devon, thank you Janet, and thank you Kristyn and Micaela!

Re: local performance--and Daisy...

I sang at a Crime Watch [event] in Garland. It was a small gathering but that is what I needed and they liked what I did.

It came up very fast. The lady has tried to get me to do something with her for a very long time and it worked out. Small group outside in a park. Firetruck, police car, and about 25 people, mostly there to sing, dance, or just watch. They are 'block' things so not any advertisement stuff. I sat on my stool and sang a couple yodeling songs.

Got a new little 'dog'. She is a rescue dog and her name is Daisy. 5 1/2 lbs and cute.

Re: note from Micaela Howeth ("Mustang Miki") on her entrance into the Hayloft Gang PBS promo contest...

You are unbelievably loyal, supportive friends and family!! I don't know how to thank you!!! If you haven't looked today, the results are that Mustang Mikki's Cowboy's Sweetheart came in FIRST place (by 51 points!!) for the public voting, and my other two songs came in third and fourth place!! I never dreamed I would come in first!! But it is all because of you!! Thank you!

Several people have asked what is next, do I win the guitar now? Sadly, not yet. :( We are having to work very hard for that guitar! The next stage goes to the contest judges. Next week they will view all the videos and vote based on creativity and musical talent. Their votes count 60% and the public voting counts 40% toward narrowing down the 61 entries down to the top 5.

Then they will have another public voting period :( and lastly contest judges voting to narrow the top 5 into first, second and third place finalists. That is when the guitar and mandolin will be awarded to first and second place.

If, by God's grace, I get into the top five finalists we will let you all know. If you would be willing to endure this voting process again with us we will be thrilled. If not, we understand. But either way, we will be sending you an email to let you know what happens.

Thank you again, SO MUCH!

Love,
Mustang Mikki (Micaela)

Re: the Hayloft Gang PBS film...

It is Steve Parry who did this documentary and it is really great. I had some input on this project and at the end they give the credits/however they are speeding past. That isn't why I got involved however.

Two Buckaroo's have entered in the contest promoting the Hayloft gang and one of the girls in Iowa also entered so, I am a big supporter of this project.

Re: gradual healing of her grief...

Yes, each day and each event I go to is better. I have found that one of my problems with thinking my performances aren't 'good enough' has begun to change since I have lowered keys to my songs. The songs were too high that's all.

My guitar playing arm won't play fast but I think if I continue to exercise it regularly that will help. I think.

I will be trying to do more local singing so, I'll just let you know how it goes.

Re: message to the Buckaroos about Kacey Musgraves signing with Lost Highway Records...

OK kids. This is a 'past Buckaroo' who started writing songs, then moved to Nashville and kept writing songs and is now getting her shot with her own recording project. I know some of you only know her name because we have been saying it but Kacey Musgraves has worked hard and we'll all be watching to see what is next for 'our Kacey'.

Re: message included in that Email from Kacey's manager...

After several months of being wined and dined by four major record labels, Kacey officially signed with Universal this afternoon with the Universal Lost Highways team.

Very excited for the next stage of her journey.

Thanks to all who gave support to get her to this place in her career.

Re: Chelsea Beck's wedding today and my comment that she was practically a daughter to Janet...

Yes on Chelsea. I sent a gift but it would have been a little much to go there, then to the memorial and then stay a week up there before the festival. I would loved to have gone. Yes also, her feller is a really nice guy, almost graduated from college and got a good head on his shoulders.

I am nearly done gathering my stuff for being away so long. Not so many show things but stuff to wear daily. Yes, I really miss John along on a trip. He loved to go.

Re: Janet's book, "Still Lovin' the Ride"...

THE BOOK HAS BEEN ORDERED. Yes, ordered. It will arrive at my door on August 1. It is a beauty.

The final proof arrived last here on Monday the 18th. I believe the price will be $20 plus postage if ordered by mail.

Amazon will carry it and I don't know what price will be on it there but in person I will ask $20.

It looks great and has tons of photos, it is just wonderful and I am pinching myself knowing it is finally a book.

I am so proud of it and of all of the work done by Mary Schutz and Pat Boilesen. It was a big undertaking.

Re: Janet's comments after Chelsea Beck's appearance on "Shotgun Red"...

I was in the audience that day and she did a wonderful job. She thanked me over the TV for mentoring her which is something that money can't buy. She did a very professional job and was well received for sure. She did great.

Chelsea did that 'blurt' on her own. It wasn't rehearsed.

After being asked for greater detail about "the blurt," Janet responded:

When he [Shotgun Red] said to her 'why don't you yodel a little for us' or something like that she said 'I'd like to thank my mentor Janet Mc Bride who is in the audience today'. Of course I swelled up.

April 27, 2011

Re: Chelsea Beck on "Shotgun Red"...

I think Chelsea Beck is on tomorrow night's Shotgun Red broadcast. Hope so.

When I reminded Janet about her previous announcement that Chelsea's appearance was earlier, she wrote:

Yes. They advertised that it would be the 21st on the TV schedule but, the show had Naomi on it which was fine since I had it being taped and had 'totally' forgotten that it was on. So, there I was with John in the front row with my red skirt showing so plain.

So I backed up the tape and sure enough, it was Naomi's performance. So, tomorrow must be Chelsea's show.

Re: Naomi Bristow's note about "Shotgun Red"...

Hi Everyone,

This is Naomi Bristow, if you didn't get a chance to watch the Shotgun Red Show last Friday here is a link to the YouTube video.

Thank you so much for all your support, it means everything to me. Country and Western music fans are the best.

You can go to that video link by clicking the screen grab from it above. And you can see a larger version of Ms. Bristow's press release regarding "Shotgun Red" by clicking the picture below. Congratulations, Naomi!

Re: Janet's plans for Easter...

Going to daughter's house for a small get together with her girls and that's it. I believe I am going to attend an outside church meeting here in the Travis Ranch Area and I hope it is as good as I think it will be. It is a small 'upstart' church that usually meets at a school.

Re: The most recent status, to this date, on Janet's book "Still Loving The Ride"...

News on the book is 'it is being proofread right now.' Lady doing that has given Mary some 'fixes' like we call them but just stuff that Mary and all of us missed. She has nearly finished the 'index' which is several pages long where we mention lots of folks from my 'long ride' and do I don't know what those 'fixes' are but she will handle them for sure right away.

A few days later, Janet added the following about the proof reader's work:

Nothing [correction-wise] major and she said 'it's a good read.'

April 15, 2011

Re: Change in scheduled appearance by Chelsea Beck on RFD - as it turned out, Naomi Bristow was the singer on the April 21st show, but this webmaster is leaving the following comment in as is because of what Janet said about Chelsea and others.

OK kids, The schedule for Chelsea Beck to appear on RFD-TV has changed to next Thursday the 21st of April at 7:00PM [Central] so don't miss it.

Chelsea is one of our 'past' Buckaroo's who would come down to the Stockyards all the way from the Oklahoma Panhandle just to appear with us so, lets support her on this show. This is a great showcase for our friends like Kristyn Harris, and other young talent.

[Chelsea was originally scheduled to appear on April 28.]

Re: Janet sent her Buckaroos the following messages about her young yodeling friends appearing on the Shotgun Red show via RFD-TV...

Hello to all Buckaroos,

I have heard from Chelsea's Grandmother that Chelsea's performance on Shotgun Red's Show will be on April 28th at 7 PM over RFD-TV. Mark it down so you won't miss it.

I haven't heard yet as to when Kristyn Harris will be aired. I am sure she will know soon.

There were two other girls filmed during this time frame and I would guess they are in the line-up too have their shows aired also. One is a very talented Canadian youngster named Naomi Bristow and another girl from Nebraska named Alexa Whipple. Be sure to watch these kids also.

I have also heard that The Rocking M Wranglers filmed in Branson also. These folks have
been friends of mine and Devon's for many years and are wonderful too.

Be sure that you don't miss this great 'family type' show on RFD-TV at 7 PM on Thursdays.

The ad is still running that he is auditioning talent 'of any age' so, you might just follow up on that if you are thinking of music as a career. There are some things you have to do to actually make the show but, I believe each of the 5 people that I personally have been involved with will tell you that it was worth it.

John and I were in the audience for some of the filming and can say that it is a super professional opportunity for anyone interested.

Janet

Hello to all,

Kristyn has just received the word that she will be on the Shotgun Red Variety Show next Thursday at 7 PM.

Set your TV recorder so that you won't miss it. This is such a great show and all of the kids we know did a wonderful job.

I can't wait. Congratulations Kristyn on all you have accomplished so far. We all love you.

Re: Janet will be in a movie in Norway! Here are the details...

On the 17th of Feb I sent an email about a Norwegian fella coming to Texas who was working on a Yodeling Documentary and wanted to meet with me at some point.

I only mentioned it once cause I don't count my chickens before they hatch sort of deal and they might have not come.

Well, yesterday two guys came and spent 4 hours here with me along with a camera.

They talked for the full time with me filming all 4 hours.

As best as I can tell, it will be for Norway broadcast for sure since there is a surge of interest in 'yodeling' and he wants to be in there with his 'documentary.'

Anyway, just what they will do with it is unclear other than it will be shown in Norway.

At any rate, it is done. Me

Re: When I asked Janet when this movie was coming out and whether she would be getting a DVD copy, her response was...

It is a documentary and I don't know, nor did they. My son came while they were here and he asked also.

Might just be in their language. Just don't know yet. Just hope it comes out someplace.

Re: Kacey Musgraves came to Dallas to sing at Billy Bob's. Here is what Janet told the Buckaroos about that event...

Today I got some exciting news about our 'past' Buckaroo Kacey Musgraves. First off, she is appearing TONIGHT at Billy Bob's Texas with The Josh Abbott show. She and Josh will sing their duet recording of 'Oh Tonight' which is the #1 song on the Texas Music Chart and the # 2 song on the Billboard Texas Chart.

Most of us will never know how hard it is to get a song on any music chart so trust me when I say, this is pretty dog gone good.

Kacey will do an acoustic set alone at Billy Bob's tonight also. There is a little more news in Kacey's world that is exciting. Martina McBride has recorded one of Kacey's songs written with a co-writer and it is possible it will be Martina's next single from her up coming CD project. Lee Ann Womack has also recorded one of Kacey's songs but that CD is not released yet.

Warner has put together a band for Kacey to tour with this summer Kacey is scheduled to be in the Studio by the end of February to record her own project for release soon. I talked with Kacey today and she is doing fine and said to say 'Hello' to all of you.

Her mother met me today and brought two very beautiful items of Kacey's for the Silent Auction and made a donation for the Buckaroo Scholarship Fund in memory of John Ingram. Thank You to Barbara and Darrell Musgraves for all of their past help with Buckaroo's and Cowtown Opry and for the continued support they have shown toward our continued success with all we are trying to do.

Re: Janet contributed archival footage of Patsy Montana to a special project film about the National Barndance - to be aired on PBS September of 2011. Here is the notice she received from Stephen Parry:

Subject: National Barn Dance documentary

Hi Janet,

I hope all is well. We're making great progress on our documentary,"The Hayloft Gang: The Story of the National Barn Dance."

We were able to produce a nice segment on Patsy, thanks in part to the great footage you shared with us. I have gone through Michael Losey for permission to use this footage in our film since he manages the family archives.

We would like to give you recognition in the end credits of the the film... Please let me know how you would like that to appear. It will either be listed under "Special Thanks" or "Archival Resources."

When I recently spoke with Michael he said that he and Beverly are both deeply grateful to you and your husband for having the foresight to save some of Patsy's archives after she passed away.

The documentary will have a September 2011 PBS broadcast.

Thanks again for all your assistance and interest in helping us tell this untold story.

Blessings,

Stephen Parry

Re: Janet responds to the photo I put on the site of her sitting in John's chair with his picture

Thank you Paul. Yes, the photos taken that day were hard to do. When I have been with my family the smile comes easier but the smile that day was hard to do.

Thank you for putting it up and I hope it will reach a lot of our fans. Lori [Loyd] did a good job [in her article about John]. Thank you again.

Re: Janet's comments after New Year's weekend

I've actually done OK so far. Knowing that the 'kids' are very close to me is good. I have been sleeping well and as you know, if I don't get sleep then I will be in trouble. I will do Buckaroos on Sunday.

Re: Later the same day, Janet sent the following to her Buckaroos:

Hello to all Buckaroos and Families,

First off, I will be at Buckaroos this coming Sunday January 9th. We will probably start a little early this Buckaroos Sunday if everyone is there. We will have one run through of the songs for each Buckaroo and that will be the show also for this time only. We will begin working on the song that we will do at the Gala for PAM MINICK.

For those who didn't get notified, My Husband John Ingram passed away on Dec. 22nd. You all know he has been sick with a lot of medical issues for a long time and each time he got a flare up of a particular issue, he would bounce back ... but this time The Lord Called John's Name and he was gone.

John willed his body to the Southwest Medical School so there was no service. I don't think I would have survived it anyway so we didn't have one.

I will see y'all on Sunday the 9th. Love each of you, Janet McBride

Re: Janet's response after I "checked up" on her Monday after Christmas weekend

Thank you for checking on me for sure. I have had family here constantly until today and will now do a few things like call and cancel doctors etc and just move along. I am glad you have your old computer. I am glad that 'I' have my old computer also. It is so good to be able to cut out a track for the kids or whatever. I just couldn't master this program on here [my new computer].

I am glad you had your Christmas Dinner. Ours of course was wonderful and as always, too much but we promised that we wouldn't waste so much next year.

Yep, I am planning on doing the festivals that I had scheduled even by myself. I hope I can manage it.

Re: Janet later commented on the picture I added to the website's home page, as well as to various announcements I put there

He was a 'handsome Cowboy' wasn't he. Thanks for adding them. That photo is very striking.

Re: First notices of, and responses to, John's passing

I am sure someone will send an email that will have your name on it but wanted you to hear from me that...

My John passed away yesterday afternoon [December 22, 2010] here at the house. We had been to the ER but after a few hours they sent him home with meds for infection but I think he had a seizure or heart attack about 4pm.

Nothing anyone could do. EMTs came etc., grandson in law was on the floor with him doing CPR but I think he was gone immediately from the attack or seizure.

I am fine. Lots of family here. He had willed his body/as have I/to the Southwest Medical School so there will be no service.

I'm fine. Me

After I told Janet I'd be updating my Twitter and Facebook accounts with this news, she responded with the following message:

Thank you. Just so sad.

In a subsequent Email she added:

I'm fine and will miss that special man.

I'll be OK right now. I am going to send you a thing that was sent to me by one of the CTO Board members. Just the neatest thing.

Janet then sent the following from Richard Linnartz of the Cowtown Opry [CTO] in Fort Worth, Texas:

Janet,

So sorry to hear of yours and everyone's loss.

I know John enjoyed much of what YOUR AWESOME CAREER has been with the CTO, but more than that the GIANT AND UNDESCRIBABLE ENFLUENCE ON HUNDREDS OF WESTERN ENTERTAINERS GROPING FOR A SINGLE THREAD TO BRING THEM INTO THE EDGE OF THE MAIN STEAM OF COWBOY MUSIC.

I KNOW JOHN"S ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOU WILL CARRY SEEING EACH FACE OF EVERY ONE OF THOSE BUCS' [BUCKAROOS'] FACES AND TO KNOW THAT JOHN IS STILL BACKING EVERYTHING YOU DO.

I AM PRAYING YOUR LOSS WILL BE SOFTER AS YOU AND JOHN HAVE HAD SUCH A GRAND AND FULL TOUR OF THE BETTER PART OF BEING A STRONG INFLUENCE IN THE LIVES OF HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF MEN AND WOMEN SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TODAY.

AFTER ONLY 3 YRS OF WORK ON THE CHISHOLM AND WESTERN TRAILS PROJECT, I HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOUR CAREER OF MANY YEARS ALONG A VERY COLORFUL AND REWARDING JOURNEY I AM SURE IF ONLY KNOWING JUST A FEW OF THE TIMES YOU HAVE MENTIONED************************

I FEEL STRONGLY THAT WE SHOULD BE HONORING JOHN AT OUR GALA AS HE ALONG WITH YOU HAVE DONE SO MUCH TO HELP BRING A GLIMMER IF LIGHT TO THE MANY BUCS AND THEIR FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND RELATIVES WHO WERE NOT AWARE OF THE OVERWHEMING INFLUENCE THAT WESTERN MUSIC HAS PLAYED IN THE LIVES OF OUR SOCIETY HERE IN GOD'S COUNTRY OF THE OLD CATTLE TRAIL.

JANET, YOU ALONG WITH JOHN HAVE TOUCHES SO MANY HEARTS AND SOULS OF THOSE WHO WERE SEARCHING AND NEEDING SOME THING TO DIRECT THEIR ENERGY AND THEIR LIVES**************************

YOU WERE IT AND YOU HAVE SUCH AN AWESOME WAY TO CONNECT TO ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE AND YOU AND JOHN HAVE DONE SO MUCH TO GIVE MANY OF US A NEW AVENUE TO APPRECIATE THE RICH COWBOY HERITAGE MANY PEOPLE CAN ONLY FEEL A NARROW TIP OF WITHOUT BEING EMERSED INTO THE INNER PARTS******

IN OTHER WORKDS YOU HAVE GIVEN US THAT INNER TOUCH OR LINK TO BE MORE THAN JUST A SPECTATOR-STANDING ON THE EDGE - YOU ARE A MARVELOUS LADY WHO WILL BE EVER STRONGER AS YOU HAVE A FEW PEOPLE WHOM YOU HAVE WORKED WITH OVER THE PAST YEARS [WHO] LET YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF AN INFLUENCE YOU AND JOHN HAVE BEEN IN THEIR LIVES*******

FOR EXAMPLE I WOULD HAVE NEVER DREAMED OF SADDLING UP ON THE CHISHOLM AND WESTERN TRAIL CATTLE DRIVE ADVENTURE HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR BEING INVOLVED ON SEVERAL GREAT GALAS AND OTHER CTO PROJECTS WORKING WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND JOHN.

LONG MAY THE MEMORY OF JOHN GO WITH EACH OF US AS WE REMEMBER HOW GREAT, LOVING, HARD WORKING AND DEDICATED HE WAS AND HOW MUCH OF AN IMPACT HE HAD ALONG WITH YOU ON A MAJOR PART OF OUR COWBOY ENTERTAINMENT WORLD.

MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND ALL YOUR WAYS TO ENRICH THE LIVES OF OVER A MILLION PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD.

GOD BLESS YOU AND JOHN'S WONDERFUL MEMORIES.

Richard Linnartz

On Christmas Eve day, December 24, 2010, Janet wrote the following:

Paul, I just sent this to some 'special' people that I didn't want to leave out. I thought you might like to see it.

Hello to each of you,

I am aware that some of you might have been on someone's list and have received this message but each of you are special and I didn't want you 'not' to know.

My John passed away on Wednesday afternoon. Sudden, fast and probably best however, it doesn't change the fact that John is gone.

I have family near/actually as close as across the street so I am ok. John willed his body to science as have I and my son stayed at the emergency room until someone from the Southwest Institute School etc. came for him.

There will not be a service since the family was due to be here for Christmas and I am not sure I could have done that anyway.

John was the most special of people and the perfect partner for me as I am sure you all noticed. He was funny, he was a ham, which he turned into I think just to be noticed because 'as he said 'it was always about me' then he'd laugh because he loved it that way and devoted 34 years of his life to make sure that it 'was' that way.

Each of you touched his life and of course mine but especially his. He loved how his life turned around by being with all of y'all including everyone he met in the entertainment business.

Thank each of you for your love and support. Janet

From the webmaster: the December 20 post below would be the last from Janet while her husband, John Ingram, was still alive. Its lack of foreboding demonstrates the complete unexpectedness of his passing. It symbolizes the simplicity of the life of Janet and John, and the tenderness of love between them.

Re: Local Performance

I sing today for a home where they have seniors they care for. I've done it for at least the last 3 years and it involved about an hour of my time so, we'll go again. It is in Mesquite.

It is a fun thing to do and they have treats to eat. John is into that for sure and we do like to do this type of thing.

I am on cloud nine cause I went to a local Brookshire's and found the 'apples' that make the fruit salad 'the best'. I got McIntosh but they also had Rome or Breaburn. It makes a difference in the taste.
