From George Jones and Ferlin Husky to LeAnn Rimes, Two Bits and Ricky Skaggs, Janet McBride influences Country Music for decades. Whether sharing the stage, providing that stage, creating a tune, or teaching someone to yodel, Janet’s gift of music goes on and on as it is passed from artist to artist.

Too much a lady to boast or list the names she knows and sings with, I’m taking it upon myself to do some boasting for her. To me, Janet McBride for too long stands quietly in the wings of the attention she deserves. Having been a fan of this genre since the 50s, I see her as symbol of all that is good in Country Music.

As you surf these pages you will find ever-increasing listings and lore regarding this singer, song-writer, teacher, stage-hostess, film-vocalist, and more. Randy Travis popularized, in recent years, the ideal of “Heroes and Friends.” In that light, I consider it a highest honor to present to the web community Ms. Janet McBride. You may already know her as the “one who taught LeAnn Rimes to yodel.” I know her simply as hero to me, and friend to all.
